The first quarter of the year has seen the release of several quality books. If you’re still working on that annual resolution to read more, here are a few more books to add to your list.

As she is drawn further into Sankara’s world, she finds herself beginning to admire him, leading her to question her beliefs. American Spy is an examination of race, sexuality, and politics, all wrapped into an engaging spy novel.

Gingerbread – Helen Oyeyemi

Gingerbread is the new novel by award-winning magical-realism author, Helen Oyeyemi.

The story follows mother and daughter Harriet and Perdita Lee, the keepers of a gingerbread recipe that connects them with the fantastical land of Harriet’s birth, and her childhood friend Gretel. Years later, Perdita sets out on a journey to find Gretel and discover more about her mother’s roots. The already celebrated story is a meditation on family histories and fairytales.

The Dreamers – Karen Thompson Walker

The Care and Feeding of Ravenously Hungry Girls – Anissa Gray
