Home is where the heart is. It’s also where the clutter is too.

If you’re looking for ways to organise your home, make things neater and more streamlined, we’ve got 10 ideas for you.

  1. Use suitcases to store things you use infrequently like blankets.

  1. Turn old jars into practical and inexpensive desk/stationery organisers. You can also use these to keep makeup brushes in order.

  1. Instead of haphazardly tossing things under the bed, use under-the-bed boxes to organise your storage.

  1. Make use of vertical space; store up, not out by installing moveable shelves above the rack in your closet for instance, or using labelled, stackable boxes to corral small items.

  1. Double up on space; place an under-shelf wire rack over a shelf to take advantage of the unused space below.

  1. Whether it’s in the kitchen, bedroom or bathroom, group all like items together on the same shelf or in the same drawer.

  1. Use drawer dividers to keep clutter under control and to keep things neatly organised.

  1. Using two three short rods installed one above the other in a closet, rather than one high one, will maximise hanging space for short items.

  1. Use accordion files to organise and store bills, paperwork and other documents.

  1. Assess what you’ve got in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom regularly and toss or give away what you don’t really need.
