It is Carnival Season again in the Cayman Islands and Cayman Carnival Batabano has activities for the entire family, from Junior Batabano for the young ones to a series of adult events leading up to the road march on Saturday 10 May 2025.

Cayman Carnival Batabano 2025 Events

Junior Batabano – Saturday 3 May 2025

Junior Batabano, introduced in 2002, is a family-friendly celebration that highlights the youth of the Cayman Islands. This vibrant event features a parade showcasing costumes inspired by Caribbean and Caymanian culture. In addition to the parade, there are fun activities, live entertainment, and delicious food. Junior Batabano aims to promote the preservation of cultural traditions for future generations.

This year’s parade theme is “Island Hopping:  Visit the islands through the eyes of Junior Batabano”

The Family Fun Day activities start at 3pm from Cardinal Avenue in George Town and end at 7pm. The parade starts at 4pm and circles around town, returning to Cardinal Avenue where the junior masqueraders cross the stage and perform choreographed dances as they compete for coveted awards. The Teen Jam will start at 7pm and end at 11pm.

Batabano 2025 Main Adult Carnival Events

J’ouvert – Monday 5 May 2025

J’ouvert in the Cayman Islands marks the beginning of the Carnival season. During this lively early-morning celebration, revellers cover themselves in paint, mud, or powder.

The secret private location will be announced at midnight on event day!

Pan On D’ Avenue – Tuesday 6 May 2025

Is it even carnival without the steel pan? Pan on d’ Avenue is a vibrant celebration of steel pan, the world’s only musical instrument invented in the 21st century. The event starts at 7pm on Cardinal Avenue.

Batabano Adult Street Parade – Saturday 10 May 2025

The Adult Street Parade will follow its traditional route, beginning at Seven Mile Beach at 1pm and winding down to George Town’s historic waterfront.
