Cayman Jerk Fest 2017

Love Jerk? Come show some love – on Saturday 17th June, and find out who makes some of the best jerk chicken on island.
The Annual Cayman Jerk Fest, presented by DMS Broadcasting, is back!
The event will be held at Seven Mile Public Beach from Noon to 3pm.
There, ten contestants will fight for the title of best jerk chicken, the prize of $1000 and bragging rights. There will also be $1000 awarded to People’s Choice and $500 awarded to the Best Jerk Food (non-chicken item.)
The winner will be determined by vote from a panel of judges after a blind taste test. The chicken for judging will be provided to the competing chefs by Jamaica’s Best Dressed Chicken (30 lbs). Contestants can jerk other foods for public sampling. Chicken will be supplied, but contests must bring their own grill, fuel, tent, chairs, prep table, serving table, table cloths and signage.
The competition is $25 to enter.
The event is open to the public, but visitors can pay $10 at the gate to sample from each booth. There will also be alcohol for sale from the Cayman Spirits Company Festival Bar.
