It’s November and that means it is time for the Cayman Islands to host its annual Pirates Week Festival to celebrate the country’s pirate heritage.

Pirates Week 2022 began in Cayman Brac on Friday 4 November. Events will move to Grand Cayman from Saturday 12 November to Sunday 20 November and end in Little Cayman from Friday 25 November to Sunday 27 November 2022.

This year, spectators and participants can expect a series of costume contests, cultural and heritage competitions, music, pirates’ raid, float parade and fireworks.

Other planned activities include:

  • 5km sea swim.
  • Street dances.
  • Treasure hunts.
  • Children’s fun day.
  • Scavenger hunt.

Pirates Week has been a beloved annual activity in the Cayman Islands social calendar for over 40 years and continues to draw support from the local community.
