The ten best beaches in the Caribbean have been named in a list compiled by respected Canadian travel agency Flight Network.

The list was put together following input from “over 1200 journalists, editors, bloggers, and agencies, who know all things travel”.

The Caribbean’s top beaches featured in the annual ranking of the world’s 50 best beaches. They were scored according to their beauty, remoteness, sand and water quality.

1: Grace Bay, Turks and Caicos

2: Seven Mile Beach, Cayman Islands

3: Varadero Beach, Cuba

4: Pink Sands Beach, Harbor Island, Bahamas

5: Bavaro Beach, Dominican Republic

6: Malmok Beach, Aruba

7: Half Moon Cay, Little San Salvador Island, Bahamas

8: Manuel Antonio Beach, Costa Rica

9: Flamenco Beach, Puerto Rico

10: Grand Anse, Grenada

Grace Bay in Turks and Caicos came out on top because of its “pure white sand and rich blue water”. It is also surrounded by a reef which is home to thousands of tropical sea animals and is perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Some of the beaches that just missed out on the top 10 include Bathsheba in Barbados which came in at 11, Antigua and Barbuda’s Dickenson Bay which placed at 19 and Maracas Bay in Trinidad and Tobago which was number 20.
