Here’s what you can look forward to next month.

3 October: Cayman Arts Festival – Martin Roscoe Piano Concert

Renowned UK pianist Martin Roscoe will be performing in Grand Cayman thanks to the Cayman Islands Arts Festival. With a career spanning four decades and a repertoire of over 100 concertos, Roscoe is sure to give an incredible performance. His programme for the evening includes pieces by Beethoven, Debussy, Chopin, and Schumann.

3 to 5 October: Into the Woods at the Cayman Drama Society

Cayman Drama Society’s production of James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods continues through 5 October. The Tony Award-winning musical reimagines classic fairy tales such as Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Little Red Riding Hood with a modern twist.

Performances will be staged at the Prospect Playhouse and shows begin promptly at 7:30pm.

5 October: Pilates for Pink

Pilates for Pink returns to the Arts and Recreation Centre at Camana Bay for another year of exercising for a cause. Raise funds to support the Cayman Islands Cancer Society while you work on your core.

Register for $30 through Energy Fitness at Cricket Square. Those who register prior to event-day will be entered into a draw for a pink Bosu ball, a $300 Energy class pass or a pair of Apple™ airpods.

All participants receive a Pilates for Pink tank top, pink resistance band and a water bottle.

5 October: Cayman Islands Breast Cancer Foundation Gala Dinner

The Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman will host the Breast Cancer Foundation’s Gala Dinner, the charity’s largest annual fundraiser. The gala promises an evening of glamour, fun, and entertainment including live auctions, a three-course meal, wine and bubbles.

Individual and corporate ticket packages are available. Proceeds are donated toward the Foundation’s efforts to support breast cancer survivors and patients.

12 October: CISBA Small Business Expo

The Cayman Islands Small Business Association’s annual expo helps get your small business noticed. The event will feature small local businesses from a range of professions and services.

13 October: Brenda Tibbetts Lund 5/10K Walk/Run

Support the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens as they raise awareness for breast cancer at this fun 5/10K walk/run.

The race starts from Public Beach at 6am.

17 October: Cayman Islands Investment Forum

The 2019 Cayman Islands Investment Forum is themed ‘The Future of Human Decision Making’. The half-day event will feature talks by international experts including Dr Daniel Crosby, Andy Fastow, Denise Shull, and Fahmi Quadir.

17 and 18 October: Voices for Hospice Concert

Voices for Hospice recognises World Hospice and Palliative Care Day. The fundraising concert at the Harquail Theatre aims to increase awareness and encourage new Hospice volunteers. There will be performances by the Cayman National Choir, Cayman National Orchestra, and Miss Jackie’s School of Dance.  

19 October: FNSports Beer Mile

Four beers, one mile. FNSports’ popular beer mile event is back for 2019. Walkers and runners alike can enjoy this short-course race on their own, or in teams of two, three or four.

Funds raised from registration will be donated to the Cayman Islands Humane Society.

26 October: Salud! Wine Festival

The Salud! Wine Festival will showcase over 150 quality wines from leading producers around the world.

This year’s event takes place at the Grand Cayman Marriott Resort.

26 October: Women in White

Your favourite female chefs Brittanni Seymour, Timisha Edwards, and Jessica Moore will host their second annual Women in White fundraiser event on 26 October. The evening of live music, raffles and locally-sourced, globally-inspired cuisine will take place at one of Cayman Luxury Villas’ stunning Bodden Town properties.

Proceeds go toward a scholarship fund that for young women hoping to enter the culinary industry.
