The island is also a well-known destination for festive events throughout the year. We have a few events you can plan to check out this year.

Jazz ‘N Creole

Save the date: 30 April 2023.

Venue: Fort Shirley, Cabrits National Park.

What should you expect: Patrons can expect a family-friendly event that includes a mix of jazz and Creole influenced food, music, and culture.

Event prices: Adults EC$175 (grounds) or EC$250 VIP, children 13-17 EC$75.

About this event: This day-long event highlights the infusion of jazz into the Creole culture of Dominica. The festival is in its 12th year and features artists performing for local and international guests. Jazz ‘N Creole is also a scene of high-level fashion that reflects the influence of Creole in the jazz culture. The mainstage event completes a week of jazz fringe festivities across Dominica.

How to prepare for Jazz ‘N Creole: Several fringe events take place at stunning locations showcasing the diverse cuisine, vibrant music, wellness, and nature trips in the days leading to the main event. The atmosphere at the main event is perfect for indulging in delicious local cuisines, socialising, and creating lasting memories with the charming view of Portsmouth Cove.

Dominica Festival of Arts (DOMFESTA)

What should you expect: Patrons can expect five days of great food, drinks, and brilliant culinary displays by some of the world’s most talented chefs and other culinary personalities.

The Cultural Division introduced the Dominica Festival of Arts in 1983. The festival showcases music, creative workshops, concerts, theatrical and dance performances to develop local artistic expressions. Activities take place at several locations island wide.
