Dominica’s music and culture scene electrifies over three thrilling nights in late October, when the World Creole Music Festival returns to Roseau. Celebrating the country’s rich cultural landscape, the music festival was launched as a tourism vehicle that both attracts visitors and honours the island’s multi-culturalism with performances by artists of Caribbean, African and Afro-Caribbean heritage. Musical forms from the Creole world including cadence-lyso, kompa, zouk and soukous are regularly featured.
For this year’s 20th edition that celebrates 40 years of Dominica’s independence, festival-goers will be treated to a star-studded lineup of performers including Mavado, Machel Montano, Kes the Band, Chronix, and Kassav.
