Staying fit and healthy during a COVID-19 lockdown is a struggle for a lot of us.

It can be tempting to make several trips to the fridge, spend all day on the couch, and neglect your exercise routine as the days meld into one and you can’t even leave your home except for essential journeys.

Luckily, there are several local and regional fitness trained Instagrammers offering expert exercise advice, and even demonstrating stay-at-home workouts, so that people can keep fit and healthy despite the pandemic.

Wake Up to Workout

Labelled as ‘the Caribbean’s largest HITT (High-Intensity Interval Training) workout library’, with over 200 exercises available online, Wake Up to Workout provides almost daily routines for its 24.3k+ IG followers.

Most of the time, no gym equipment is needed, and modifications are shown for people who want a less intense workout. You can also watch the sessions on YouTube.

Certified Barbadian personal trainer Francois-Rene Jones regularly posts easy-to-follow workouts on IG stories for his 5,000+ Instagram audience. Some of the sessions are advanced, but there are suggestions on how you can modify the exercise for your fitness level.
