Spice Island Billfish Tournament 2024 Is Here! Let’s Take to The Seas

This year is unlike any other in Grenada. The first half features a robust calendar that’s so jampacked with activities that we’ll all need a vacation in June.

In addition to celebrations such as Kayak Mas 2024, Grenada Sailing Week, and Independence Day is the 54th Republic Bank Spice Island Billfish Tournament 2024. The biggest fishing event on the island, Grand Slam 54, will occur from Monday, 22 January, to Friday, 26 January.

Anglers will assemble for the five-day fishing competition, each vying for the coveted acclaim of landing the biggest catch. While all eagerly anticipate showing off their fishing prowess, SIBT 24’s exciting parade of boats and the customary lay day with thrilling onshore activities offer excellent distractions.

Here’s a quick look at the Republic Bank SIBT Grand Slam 54:

22 January: Registration for boats and anglers occurs between 9am and 5pm.

23 January: The Binimi Start. Day one of fishing and parade of boats. Lines down at 7:35am and up at 5pm.

24 January: Day two of fishing commences with lines down at 7am and up at 4:30pm.

25 January: Lay day.

26 January: Day three of fishing. It’s the final day of fishing, culminating with an award ceremony.
