Cricket matches are exciting!

The play, music, food and energy inside the venue can be invigorating.

The 2019 Caribbean Premier League (CPLT20) is kicking off in Trinidad and Tobago on 4 September 2019 at the Queen’s Park Oval. This year’s tournament will culminate on 12 October 2019.

The CPL, which started in 2013, is in its seventh season and has 34 cricket matches.

This tournament features cricket matches among six teams – St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Jamaica Tallawahs, Trinbago Knight Riders, Barbados Tridents, Guyana Amazon Warriors and St. Lucia Zouks.

Seasoned cricket fans already know how to prepare for the tournament.

However, a few reminders might be useful.

Here’s what you must have when attending a cricket match!

TicketsSome persons prefer to purchase tickets at the venue. However, it is always better to grab your tickets ahead of the match date. Some matches may be sold out early. Also, you don’t want to be waiting in a long line, while all the best seats in the section are taken.

Match schedule: If you are planning on attending several of the events, a schedule is very necessary. Matches will be held in several countries including St. Kitts, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad, St. Lucia and Guyana. Most match times are in the early afternoon or evening. However, a few events may also begin at 11am.

Camera: Yes, most phone cameras are great at capturing moments. However, if you are in a box or far from the pitch, a camera with zoom is a must. This will help you to have great quality photos documenting the event. Instead of slightly blurry shots, you can have flawless photos to share on social media.

Binoculars: Some fans prefer to stay in the moment. A pair of binoculars will allow you to see the action happening on the pitch with ease and clarity. This will help you to keep a closer eye on your favourite players and the play as it unfolds.

Cooling towels: The matches are held outdoors. We live in a tropical climate, as such some days temperatures could soar. When this happens, cooling towels will be a welcomed way to cool down.

Team colours: All teams have a devoted fanbase. Rep your team by wearing their colours to the event. Be sure to include sunglasses, a round hat and comfortable footwear. Cricket matches tend to last long and it’s better to be comfortable.

Good vibes: Cricket matches are usually entertaining and lively. There is friendly rivalry, lots of music, cheers and food. It can be noisy, so be prepared for a lot of excitement!

Other must haves can be personal items that you will need. These may include your cell phone, a pouch or bag for your valuables (keys, cards, tickets, etc.) and money for snacks or food.

Get in on the action and enjoy the fun!
