The holidays are just around the corner.
Have you started looking at items to add to your holiday gifts list?
Kitchen gadgets and appliances aren’t usually at the top of the list for holiday gifts. However, with many of us now cooking at home, they might be worth checking out.
Having a few handy kitchen gadgets and appliances could make meal prep and cooking a lot easier. They can also save time and improve the quality and consistency of meals.
Whether it is that you are shopping for a friend who loves to cook or treating yourself, we have five kitchen gadgets and appliances that you can choose from!
Dull knives can be irritating, especially when you don’t have the right tool to sharpen them. A knife sharpener should be viewed as an essential kitchen tool. It allows for the sharpening of knives easily and safely whenever you need it. You can choose between an electric or a manual knife sharpener. Don’t worry, there are even some that sharpen serrated knives without damaging the blade.
Note: Let’s face it, not many of us know how to use a file, other sharp edge or a whetstone to sharpen a knife properly or safely.
Spend less time slicing and dicing ingredients by using a food processor. This versatile kitchen appliance has several features that allow you to quickly and easily cut, chop, puree, grind, or shred, almost any food. Depending on the brand, the processor can also be used to make vegetable or citrus juices, among other functions.
Note: On long workdays, efficiency is exactly what we need in the kitchen. This is a great time-saving device!
A lot of kitchens will have the delicious scent of baked goodies this holiday. If you have a friend who loves baking, a set of mixing bowls may be worth adding to your list. Mixing bowls are convenient for whipping up or mixing ingredients for cooking. These useful bowls come in stainless steel, glass or copper, and they are affordable. Who knows, you may end up treating yourself to some too!
Note: Whether you love to bake or not, these bowls can help to make meal prep easier!
An Instant Pot™
An Instant Pot™ is a versatile appliance that boasts several features that can make cooking a lot easier. It can be used as a slow cooker, steamer, food warmer, pressure cooker or a sauté pan. It is so nifty that you may even want to treat yourself to one this holiday. There are several models available, so a bit of research to find the one best suited for your budget may be necessary.
Note: This pot may also be used to make a variety of one-pot meals!
A sandwich maker is a space saver and time saver. It’s an appliance that is quite handy for people who usually have busy mornings or afternoons. It may even be used to make dinner based on what you are in the mood for. There are several brands on the market and are available at some supermarkets or appliance stores.
Note: Not only does this make mealtimes quicker, but your spouse or teenagers can also easily use it to make their sandwiches!
