These Seven Surprisingly Easy Things Will Help You Burn More Calories All Day

When you’re trying to lose weight, the time you spend in the gym isn’t all that matters. Your whole day counts.
Here are seven good ways to burn more calories all day (you need these even more now that it’s the holiday season!).
Park further away
When you’re picking your parking spot in the morning, resist the temptation to park as close to your office as possible. Pick a spot further away to force you to walk more. Those steps equal extra calories burned.
Take the stairs
Always endeavour to take the stairs rather than the elevator. The elevator might be easier, but taking the stairs adds to your daily calorie burn.
Whenever possible try to stand up while you work. When you’re standing you’re burning more calories than you would be sitting. It’s also not good for you to be sitting down all day. Also try to get up and walk around while you make phone calls and go to your colleague’s desk rather than send an email.
Enjoy a workout quickie
Start your day with a short burst of activity to get your metabolism going. A simple circuit with jumping jacks, squats, crunches or push-ups for a few minutes will kick start your calorie burn for the day.
Move for a minute
Try to get your heart rate elevated for at least one minute every hour. Do some squats, lunges, go for a brisk walk around the office or jog in place.
Use a tracker
Get a fitness tracker or set an alarm on your phone to remind you to get up and move every half an hour.
Head to the floor
Sit on the floor when you’re relaxing in front of the TV. Your muscles have to work harder to support you than when you’re lounging on the couch. You also work your muscles more when you get up and sit back down.
These simple things will have a big impact on your daily calorie burn!
