If you enjoy having a great time, there is always something fun to do in Jamaica, especially during the summer. Summer parties are vibrant and infused with Jamaican food, dancing, and live entertainment. From beach parties to festivals, we have some events you can check out this summer.

Reggae Sumfest 2023 – Montego Bay

Reggae Sumfest is held annually during the third week in July and is Jamaica’s largest summer reggae festival. Patrons can expect good music, food, drinks, and high-energy performances from some of the island’s top entertainers. The event is held for over a week and features a series of events that include a family fun day (16 July), free street dance (17 July), Blitz (19 July), All White (18 July), and Global Sound Clash (20 July).

The main festival nights take place on 21 and 22 July, featuring an impressive lineup including Tommy Lee, Valiant, Masicka, Kabaka Pyramid, Freddie McGregor, Morgan Heritage, Marion Hall, Richie Spice, and Tanya Stephens. Dream Weekend – Negril

Your summer events list is incomplete without considering Dream Weekend. This event is the Caribbean’s most extensive VIP party, providing patrons with an experience that creates lasting memories. Dream Weekend is an annual signature event for partygoers in Jamaica, with a weekend-long getaway in Negril just before Jamaica’s Independence holidays. This year’s activities take place from 28 July to 1 August 2023.

The event features entertainment by top artists and DJs from all genres of music. Performers on this year’s roster include Shenseea, Skeng, Ding Dong, Valiant, Chronic Law, Wayne Wonder, and Stalk Ashely. Premium ticket holders can enjoy unlimited food and drinks and up to eight memorable parties in five days. Interested persons can purchase individual or season tickets for the Dream Weekend parties on their website. Jamaica 61st Independence Celebrations

Jamaica’s independence festival is a spectacular event that celebrates our culture, traditions, and independence from the United Kingdom. This year marks the 61st year, and many exciting events are on the roster. Some exciting events planned for the celebrations include the Festival Queen Coronation,  Mello-Go-Roun, award ceremonies, float parade, Jamaica Festival Song contest, street dances, and the Independence Grand Gala. While some events may begin a few weeks before Independence Day, there are significant festivities on Emancipation Day (1 August) and Independence Day (6 August).
