According to Dr Seuss, “the more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”

Here in Montserrat, we can certainly attest to that. Each November, our island is abuzz with excitement as we await the various escapades we’ll embark on during our three-day literary festival.

In its 14th year, the Alliouagana Festival of the Word (AFW LitFest) is highly anticipated by all. Our storytellers assume the platform for sharing their stories in various literary forms. Themed “Imagination, Language. Identity”, the LitFest will occur from 17 to 19 November 2022. As in previous instalments, there will be a series of live and virtual events over the three days.

Does your little one have a book they’ve enjoyed but no longer read? Then the Children’s Book Swap is an excellent opportunity for them to share the joy while acquiring a book. The pre-LitFest activity will take place on Monday 14 November 2022 from 10am to 4:30pm. Bring your children and their books along and have them swap for a ‘new’ one.
