Your granny may have used coconut oil in your hair because it kept it shiny.  She may have told you that coconut oil prompts hair growth.  But did you know this protein rich oil also helps reduce hair loss. We’ve all had friends with silky shining legs that last all day from an early morning coconut oil application.  What might not have been known is that coconut oil is excellent for combating and preventing dry, flaky skin.  Psoriasis, dermatitis and eczema are a few of the skin problems that coconut oil application can be used to treat.  We now have the option of coconut based soaps, lotions and body creams.

Increases Good Cholesterol

Yes, there is such a thing as good cholesterol.  It is called high-density lipoprotein (HDL).   It is the cholesterol we want to have.  The other type, the bad one, is low-density lipoprotein (LDL).  HDL is what we want to have, and coconut oil contains a component that increases one’s HDL.
