It may be tempting to pick up the cheapest sheets but think twice. We spend about a third of our lives in bed! Your bedding should satisfy both your comfort and tastes. It’s a good idea to invest in well-made, comfy bedding that will last a long time.

High traffic items

Pieces that get a lot of use and are subject to lots of wear and tear are pieces that you ought to spend a little more on. Your sofa, bed, and chest of drawers, for example, are some of the most used pieces in a home; these are worth investing in.

Statement pieces

Give in to the temptation and splurge on a statement lighting fixture, a great piece of artwork, or any other visually interesting piece that brings a wow-factor to the room.

Quality countertops

If you’re replacing or installing countertops, invest in a quality, durable material like granite or quartz that will stand up to the test of time. Your countertops go through a lot and it’s worth it to choose a material that can handle everything you put it through.

Throw pillows, rugs, side and end tables etc. are all fun ways to add personality to a room and to change the look in an instant. Because these are items that can be swapped around as often as you like, you really don’t need to spend much on them.  Save that money for staple items that need to last.

While statement lighting is a place to splurge, the regular illumination of a room does not need to be expensive. Go for cheaper table lamps, floor lamps, and overhead fixtures.

Bathroom vanities

There’s no need to spend tons of cash on getting a vanity custom-made. A reasonable priced, ready-made vanity will do the job.

It’s okay to cut back the spending when it comes to furniture that your kids will simply outgrow or want to change soon enough.
