Six Caribbean islands will host fixtures for the highly anticipated 2025 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) tournament taking place from 14 August to 21 September.

Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia and Trinidad & Tobago are set to stage a total of 34 matches.

The tournament opener on Thursday 14 August will see St Kitts and Nevis Patriots play the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at the Warner Park Sporting Complex in St Kitts.

Each of the six teams involved will play 10 group-stage fixtures at their home grounds, before the knockout rounds begin on 6 September at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence which will also stage the final.

In a press release, the CPL’s tournament operations director, Michael Hall, said: “We are thrilled to once again deliver a world-class tournament that brings together passionate cricket fans from across the Caribbean and beyond. The 2024 edition exceeded all expectations, and we are confident that the 2025 tournament will build on that success, providing unforgettable moments for players and spectators alike.”

Last year’s CPL event was won by the St Lucia Kings. The competition attracted a combined digital and broadcast viewership of 1.13 billion which was an increase of 32% from the 2023 figure according to the organisers. The tournament saw improved viewership in India, the Caribbean and USA as well as a significant increase across CPL’s social media channels.

CPL’s chief executive officer, Pete Russell, stated: “To get to a figure of 1.13bn highlights the appeal of CPL across the Caribbean and around the world. The continued growth in interest in the CPL is extremely pleasing and we are looking forward to using these amazing results as a springboard for further success in 2025 and beyond.”
