Every October St. Lucia is bathed in pink as we observe Breast Cancer month. There is usually a flurry of activities to offer our support and to raise further awareness.

This year Faces of Cancer St. Lucia invites you their annual October health fair. For the entire month and into the first Saturday in November, the group offers free cancer screenings, at a new location each week.

If you haven’t had a chance to get your annual screening done, then this Saturday is the perfect opportunity for you to get checked for:

Prostate – PSA and DRE

Cervical – Pap smear with HPV

Breast – CBE (mammograms and ultrasound)

Participants can also have blood sugar, blood pressure, hearing, vision, BMI and HIV tests done.

The Faces of Cancer St. Lucia is making it easy for you to have your check-up done this year.  Catch up with the health fair at the following dates, and at the various locations and times:

Saturday 12 October at the Oncology Centre, Tapion/Castries 10am – 3.30pm

Saturday 19 October at the Micoud Infant School, Micoud 10am – 5pm

Saturday 9 November at the Anse La Raye Community Centre, Anse La Raye 10am – 4pm
