Find Yello’s ‘Buy Local’ Valentine’s Day Gift Guide (St Lucia Edition!)
by Karen Rollins Jan 30, 2023

Valentine’s Day is approaching!
But don’t panic if you haven’t found anything yet for that special person in your life because several local, small businesses can offer items that are handmade, one-of-a-kind, and sometimes even customised.
This gift guide will help you find an extra special present.
Skincare/beauty products
Handmade soaps, body lotions and oils make the perfect gift for the partner who loves to be pampered!
St Lucian entrepreneur Yvonne Layfield started her skincare brand KaKo Organic in 2015, after spending over 15 years in the beauty and spa industry. She only uses ingredients grown on the island by local farmers and blends every item by hand for customers around the world.
Other options:
Jewellery
You can’t really go wrong with jewellery, especially when it has been designed and made by one of several talented entrepreneurs on the island.
St Lucian born businesswoman Nicole De Gale McIntosh started her jewellery line NikkiBiedes in 2015. NikkiBiedes offers clients handmade earrings, necklaces and bracelets made from pearls, silver, and gold.
Other options:
Chocolate/Cakes
Diamonds might be a girl’s best friend, but chocolates and cake are a great substitute, especially when they are made by local chefs and chocolatiers.
Blissful Bites is owned and operated by Georgia Lucien. She worked in the local hospitality industry for years, but when work slowed down because of the pandemic, she decided to turn her passion for making treats into a full-time business.
Other options:
Eating Out
If you haven’t booked dinner for two yet, it may not be too late, and luckily, we have lots of amazing restaurants on the island which cater to all tastes and budgets.
Treetop Restaurant and Bar is situated within the grounds of a unique tree-house property in Soufriere. The views are stunning (especially at sunset) and so is the food!
Other options:
Something a bit different
Jewellery, chocolate, dinner, and flowers are great but sometimes it’s nice to try something a bit different.
Dona Joseph plans luxury picnics through her brand ‘Femmendipity’. Dona loves making people happy and works hard to ensure that her luxury picnic set-ups at stunning locations in the north of the island, create a unique event that her clients will never forget.
Other options:
Crocheter Alma Henry – Absolute Stylez Crochet
Alva Preville aka The Crafty Islander
Professional photographer Gemma Flood
