The Easter Bank Holiday weekend from 7-10 April 2023 is the perfect time to do some fun things with family and friends.

Here are some simple ideas:

Take a hike

Hiking is a great way to combine exercise with experiencing nature and seeing somewhere you might not normally get to visit. Find an organised hike or grab a map and work out your route depending on your fitness level. (https://www.leankitchenco.com/)

Be sure to wear a hat, comfortable shoes, and clothing, and take plenty of water and insect repellent.

Picnic on the beach

Picnicking on the beach never gets old. Prepare or buy food the day before so that you have everything you’ll need. Pack some drinks, a picnic blanket or a beach towel, and something to keep you and your family / friends entertained like a frisbee, a pack of cards, or an iPod with speakers.

The only thing to consider is the location because a lot of people may be planning a picnic on the beach as well.

Fly a kite

Flying a kite at Easter is a traditional pastime in the Caribbean. In Antigua they even have an annual International Kite Festival at Devil’s Bridge in Indian Town National Park which attracts participants from all over the world. The best part about this activity is that it’s free and fun for all the family.

If you need some tips on how to construct your kite – read our helpful article here.

Stay at home

Depending on the weather, you might end up staying home and enjoying Easter in your living room, or you may want to do this anyway. Stock up on food and drink before Good Friday so that you’ll be fully prepared and won’t have to leave the house again until the following Tuesday. Create a list of movies or Netflix series that you want to watch, play some board games, or just sit back and relax with that book you keep meaning to read.

Staying at home really means you can do as much, or as little, as you like!
