St Lucia and Antigua and Barbuda Dominate 2025 World Travel Awards Nominations

Saint Lucia and Antigua and Barbuda have dominated nominations for the 2025 World Travel Awards (Caribbean and North America categories).

St Lucia received a record-breaking nine nominations and Antigua and Barbuda was not far behind, earning seven nominations.

St Lucia and Antigua were both nominated for the following titles:

  • Caribbean Leading Destination 2025.
  • Caribbean Leading Honeymoon Destination 2025.
  • Caribbean Leading Wedding Destination 2025.

St Lucia was also nominated in these categories:

  • Caribbean Leading Adventure Tourism Destination 2025.
  • Caribbean Leading Cruise Destination 2025.
  • Caribbean Leading Culinary Destination 2025.
  • Caribbean Leading Green Destination 2025.
  • Caribbean Leading Luxury Island Destination 2025.
  • Caribbean Leading Nature Destination 2025.

Antigua and Barbuda also received World Travel Awards nominations for:

  • Caribbean Leading Beach Destination 2025.
  • Caribbean Leading Family Travel Destination 2025.
  • Caribbean Leading Tourist Board 2025 – Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.
  • Caribbean Most Romantic Destination 2025.

In a statement, St Lucia’s Minister for Tourism, Dr Ernest Hilaire, described the island’s nominations as “a source of immense pride for us all.” He added: “The historic achievement of being nominated for nine prestigious titles in the 2025 World Travel Awards reflects the incredible progress we’ve made in shaping Saint Lucia as a world-class destination…They demonstrate that the policies and strategies implemented by the government are elevating Saint Lucia Tourism to new heights, sending a strong signal to our people and the world about the strength of our tourism sector.”

Speaking to the media about Antigua and Barbuda’s nominations, marketing communications manager at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, Maria Blackman, said: “These nominations reflect the charm, strong product offerings, and warm hospitality of our twin-island paradise…We are honoured to be recognised by the World Travel Awards, amongst the best in the Caribbean, and encourage everyone to cast their vote for Antigua and Barbuda, to help us secure these titles.”
