St Lucia Jazz Festival to Return in May 2023
by Karen Rollins May 11, 2022
St Lucia’s prestigious jazz festival will return to the island from 5-14 May next year.
The St Lucia Tourism Authority announced the new dates for the festival at a recent press conference. It was also revealed that the event will return to its original format and once again feature international reggae, R&B, Hip Hop and Latin music superstars.
Further details are expected to be released closer to the time.
St Lucia’s Jazz festival has established a reputation for putting on an impressive show ever since it was first held in 1992. The festival was created by the tourist board to fill the downtime between the peak season from December to April, and hurricane season from June to November.
Fans of the St Lucia Jazz festival, which is known as the premier jazz festival in the Caribbean, will be relieved to hear that the event is back on the calendar. It has not been staged since 2019 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
But, if you are craving some Jazz right now, there are two other events to look forward to this month. ‘Jazz n’ The City’ will be held at Constitution Park in Castries on 14 May and at the end of the month from 27-28 May the annual Jazz Sampler will take place at Sandals Grande St Lucian and Tapas on the Bay in Rodney Bay.
