St Vincent and the Grenadines’ ‘Nine Nights of Lights’ event is set to be bigger and brighter than ever, according to the organisers who officially launched the festival at the Botanical Gardens on Tuesday 28 November.
The packed schedule from 15-23 December will include a carolling contest, a night of praise, a dance under the stars and Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force Band night, movie in the garden night, XMas on Steel, and botanical harmonies night, among other activities.
Speaking at the launch event, Public Relations Officer for the Nine Nights of Lights Committee, Twanique Barrow, said over $48,000 (EC) has been spent on Christmas lights this year.
Ms Barrow added that a ‘Nine Nights of Lights Christmas Market’ will also be held with food and drink, gifts, local products, beauty, fashion, and services on sale.
Nine Nights of Lights is hosted by the National Parks, Rivers, and Beaches Authority. The idea for the event came about during a committee meeting for the 250th anniversary celebration of the Botanical Garden which was in 2015.
