Are you searching for fun things to do in Tobago? Whether you’re a visitor or local on the hunt for fun activities in July, we’ve got the perfect event. Either with friends or family, you’re all likely to enjoy it.

This year will see the return of the Tobago Heritage Festival from 22 July to 1 August. Themed Reflect, Rebirth, Rejoice-Reigniting the Flames of our Legacy, the festival, as in previous years, will celebrate Tobago’s cultural legacy.

The event is produced by the Tobago Festivals Commission, in collaboration with the Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation, the Tobago Performing Arts Company, the Shaw Park Cultural Complex, and the various host villages. The festivities are to blend folklore, song and dance, artisan creations, and theatrical presentations, featured in eleven flagship events and activities.

Locals and visitors alike can expect familiar activities such as the Junior Heritage Festival, Opening Night Gala, Plymouth J’ouvert, Ms Tobago Heritage Personality, Charlotteville Natural Treasures Day, Pembroke Salaka Feast, Les Coteaux ‘Folk Tales, and Superstitions’, Heritage Calypso Monarch, Moriah ‘Tobago Ole Time Wedding’, and the grand Emancipation Day celebration.

However, this year all are in for two special treats. First, the Commission has added the ‘Northside Passion’ to the list of events. A showcase of talent from the villages of Castara, Parlatuvier, Bloody Bay, and L’Anse Fourmi, the activity will take place at Castara Bay on 24 July. Additionally, on 22 July, the festival’s opening night, the Tobago Performing Arts Company will showcase their extraordinary talent in a production that pays homage to our cultural traditions, entitled ‘Treasures of the Tree: A Legacy Affair”.

The 2022 Tobago Heritage Festival promises to be a ‘must-experience’ with various cultural activities such as village trekking, cocoa dancing, ‘brush back’, and more.

Here’s a line-up of the Tobago Heritage Festival events that you can anticipate:
