DIY Hair Masks

Living in a hot climate can cause your hair to lose a lot of its natural moisture, oils and all around bouncy-health – not to mention how bad the humidity affects it; one word: frizz. If you don’t feel like spending upwards of $100 on salon treatments, you can always use ingredients in your own home to help bring some life back into your hair.
Here are some ideas of DIY masks that may help to remedy your hair problem.
For dry hair – Honey and olive oil; mix 4 tablespoons of honey and 6 tablespoons of olive oil. Apply generously to your hair and put on a shower cap or plastic bag. Let sit or 15-30 minutes, then wash off with your usual products and enjoy your smooth, hydrated hair.
For brittle hair – Honey and milk; mix 2 tablespoons of honey and ½ a cup of room temperature milk. Mix well and carefully pour it over your hair. Allow to sit for an hour. Wash your hair with your usual products.
Split ends – Honey, almond oil and apple cider vinegar. This will help to improve the appearance of split ends. Mix 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of almond oil and 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. If you do not have almond oil, you can use coconut oil instead. Apply to hair, focusing on the split ends. Allow to sit for a minimum of 30 minutes, and then wash with your usual products.
For frizzy hair – Honey, almond oil and banana; mash ½ your banana, then mix in 2 tablespoons of honey and ½ tablespoon of almond oil. Massage through your hair and scalp, let sit for 20 minutes then rinse off with your usual products to achieve that smooth, sleek look.
For oily hair – Milk, almond oil and oats; combine 1/8 cup milk, 1 tablespoon of almond oil and ¼ cup of oats in a blender. Once you have a paste consistency, apply to your hair and scalp for 15 minutes before washing it out thoroughly. This mask also works great for dandruff.
