My Trinidad & Tobago Style: Naballah Chi

Naballah Chi is a 27 year old woman born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago. She is a Fashion Designer, Fashion Stylist and Style Blogger. Her designs have been featured in BBC’s “The Conversation” highlighting her journey as a fashionable Muslim woman living in the Caribbean; SHE Caribbean, Cosmopolitan, The Huffington Post, Daily Mail, Mod Magazine, Buzz Feed, Fashion Bomb Daily and Metro UK.

In 2014 she represented Trinidad and Tobago at Miss World Muslimah, held in Indonesia. In 2015 she launched her debut Collection “Classic Woman”. Now, Naballah writes for international magazines such as WOW and Hayati and recently, she has become an ambassador for Artizara.

Where do you shop for clothes in Trinidad & Tobago?
I mainly shop at the malls if I do shop, but I usually sew my own clothing.

What are your classic ‘must have’ items of clothing in your closet?
A black turtle neck, a pair of blue jeans, white t-shirt, leather jacket, and a jeans jacket.

If I looked in your closet now, what would I see?
You can see mostly clothing sewn by me; all very colourful or printed pieces.

How would you describe your work attire?
Very formal – my uniform includes a tie and waist coat. You can’t get more formal than that.

How would you describe your evening/’heading out with the girls’ attire?
Simple, classy and sexy.

Do you prefer wearing flats or heels?
I like heels.

What is your favourite lipstick? (Colour and brand)
Currently Sacha Cosmetics a scarlet red lipstick called “Hello Boys”.

What perfume do you wear?
I love Rebel Fleur by Rihanna.

Where do you get your hair styled?

I do my hair in my own.

Which celebrity’s style do you most admire?
Rihanna!

What style tips did your mother pass onto you?
Be creative but always keep it modest.
