Best Beaches in the Caribbean: Reduit Beach in St Lucia
by Karen Rollins Mar 17, 2025

Situated on the north-west coast and just a 10-minute drive from Castries, Reduit Beach is one of the most highly rated stretches of sand in St Lucia because of its easy to reach location, crystal, clear, calm waters, and wide range of adrenaline-filled activities.
Popular with locals and tourists, Reduit (pronounced red-wee) can get crowded but it is a long expanse (approximately five miles) so you should be able to find a quiet spot to put your towel down away from the hustle and bustle.
You can also visit in the early morning or late evening to avoid cruise arrivals which is when the beach gets very busy.
If you are into windsurfing, jet skiing, scuba diving, water skiing or snorkelling, then you will find plenty of vendors offering rental equipment. You can also arrange a tour to the nearby islets. Beach chairs and umbrellas are also readily available to rent if needed.
One of the main attractions at Reduit Beach is the ‘Splash Island’ open-water sports park. Some of its fun, fantastic features include swings, hurdles, inflatable slides, monkey bars, and a climbing wall. Life vests are provided for guests who must be six years or older and over three and a half feet tall.
If you don’t want to leave the beach when you get hungry, Spinnakers Restaurant and Beach Bar is a popular choice for food and drink and is situated right on the sand. Otherwise, you can stroll across the road to Rodney Bay Village where you will find various amenities including shops, bars, and restaurants.
