Celebrating Our Young People – TCI’s National Youth Day

National Youth Day will be observed in the Turks and Caicos Islands on 29 September 2023.
This public holiday honours the youth of TCI and recognises their contribution to the nation’s ongoing development.
Activities to mark National Youth Day usually include parades, talent shows, competitions, rallies, concerts, and sports games, taking place around the islands. These events are coordinated by the Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports & Social Services.
In 2022, the Department of Youth Affairs launched the National Youth Policy 2021-2025 with the goal of co-creating sustainable futures for the youth of TCI. The overarching goal of the policy is youth empowerment.
National Youth Day further demonstrates the importance of the youth and the need for them to positively engage in all aspects of life in TCI. It is a time for the country to come together and celebrate its future.
