Over the past two decades, Richard has also established a powerful reputation as a businessman and philanthropist with a vested interest in the development of the Chaguanas community.
In addition to his private practice as an attorney, Richard holds the following positions:
- Director on the Board of the Chaguanas Chamber of Industry and Commerce where he was Past President [2000 - 2002] Chairman of the Crime and Public Safety Committee on the Board of the Chaguanas Chamber of Industry and Commerce
- President of the Chaguanas Lions Club and has held other posts including Director
- Board Member of Presentation College Chaguanas, serving on the School's Management and Advisory Committee.
