TECU Credit Union Co-operative Society Limited (TECU) continues to stand strong, with over 74 years of experience and 47,000 members from various sectors in Trinidad and Tobago.
Founded in 1946 by the Parish Priest of Pointe-a-Pierre, Dom. Marcus Maingot and a group of eleven (11) parishioners, TECU has grown to become one of the leading Credit Unions in Trinidad and Tobago.
From a modest deposit of $33.48, TECU's diversified asset base has grown to over $2 billion dollars. Registered in 1947 as Pointe-a-Pierre Credit Union, its focus was to service employees and contractors of Point-a-Pierre based Trinidad Leaseholds Limited.
Its name was changed as the bond of interest expanded, first to Texaco Employees Credit Union in 1962 and then to TECU Credit Union Co-operative Society Limited in 1984. TECU's open bond means that all persons in Trinidad and Tobago can apply for membership and participate in the Credit Union's product offerings.
TECU remains committed to its vision of being the leading Credit Union Co-operative in the Caribbean. It is with this mind-set that TECU continues to serve its membership and sustain their confidence through good governance, responsible corporate citizenship and innovative products and services.
