If you enjoy sailing events, it’s time to save the date for the annual Ladyville Sailing Club (LSC) and the Baron Bliss Harbour regattas. Each event is family-friendly, so you can have quality time with your loved ones while cheering on your favourites as they compete in each regatta.

Ladyville Sailing Club Annual Regatta

The LSC Annual Regatta occurs on 9 March 2024 at Fisheries in Belize City. The event is open to Optimist and Laser Class boats. People interested in participating can email their names to Sharon Hardwick at [email protected]. The entry fee per boat is $15, and this amount is payable at the regatta venue by 10 am on 9 March. Medals and certificates will be awarded to first, second and third place in the Laser and Optimist classes.

The 95th Baron Bliss Harbour Regatta

The 95th Baron Bliss Harbour Regatta is on 10 March 2024 in the Buttonwood Bay seaward of the Button Bay Park on Seashore Drive. The event kicks off at 10 am. The regatta is held in honour of Belize’s most prominent financial benefactor, Baron Henry Edward Ernest Victor Bliss, JP. Baron Bliss gifted over a million dollars to Belize on 9 March 1926, when he passed away. His will specified that a harbour regatta be held annually in his memory.

Registration to participate in the regatta is free. This year’s event has four boat classes, three competing for prizes and the fourth for exhibition. You can get additional information on the event by contacting Collet Maheia at 615-3478 (cell) or email [email protected]. Contact Roberto Pott at 602-4390 (cell) or email [email protected] to register for the event.
