The North Side of Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, offers picturesque views of the island’s coastline. The district is the smallest on the island and certainly features a slower pace of life, yet there is still much to see and do! For the energetic, there is the Mastic Trail to explore and watersports to enjoy, and for the less energetic, there are plenty of trees offering shade on the beaches where you can sit and read a book, or just dip your toes in the blue ocean.

Let’s explore the North Side! We’ve researched three top attractions in the district and top restaurants where you can grab a delicious meal during your visit.

Top Three Attractions on the North Side

Rum Point Beach

Rum Point Beach is the perfect place to escape for a tranquil reprieve. You can enjoy a day at the beach sunbathing, snorkelling, and swimming in the calm, shallow turquoise waters. It is perfect for a quick weekend day trip with family and friends. Plus, you can grab lunch at the Rum Point Club Restaurant (more about that later).

Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park

The Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park is administered by the Cayman Islands National Attractions Authority. Explore at your leisure and immerse yourself in nature. The Botanic Park is home to the endangered Grand Cayman Blue Iguana. The two-acre lake also serves as a habitat and breeding ground for native and other rare aquatic birds and animals native to the Caribbean. You can enjoy a stroll in the distinctly positioned gardens such as the Orchid Boardwalk, Xerophytic Garden, and Heritage Garden. To book a tour, contact [email protected]

Cayman Crystal Caves

The Cayman Crystal Caves were formed over millions of years. Fossilised shells and animal life in the caves show that at one time the structure making up the caves was located under the sea. Over time, as sea levels changed and land began to rise, rooms began to form through water erosion to make the caves. All visitors receive guided walking tours. Tours are approximately one and a half hours and take you through the surrounding forest area and three caves.

The maximum group size of each tour is 20 people. Call to book your adventure at (345) 925-3001.
