St Lucia Carnival 2024 Set to Offer Patrons ‘Unforgettable’ Experience

St Lucia’s 2024 ‘Nothing Sweeter Than That’ Carnival will take place from 1-17 July.
A full calendar of national and community-based activities for the celebratory season was unveiled during a recent media launch by the government, the Cultural Development Foundation, and the Carnival Planning and Management Committee.
Calypso and Soca Monarch competitions, King and Queen of the Bands, Panorama, and J’ouvert are the main highlights on the exciting agenda, along with new events such as Schools’ Panorama which will showcase the island’s talented young people.
Speaking at the launch, Chair of the Carnival Planning and Management Committee, Tamara Gibson, promised an “unforgettable 2024 carnival season”. She added that St Lucia’s carnival continues to “grow every year, in every way” offering events that cater for “every age group, every preference, and every budget”.
Alongside the new activities, the committee also introduced 10 ‘ambassadors’ who will identify, mentor, and coach junior calypsonians. They are Arthur Allain, Chaz, Cooyah, Ezra D Fun Machine, Hollywood Hp, Ricky T, Sedale, Shemmy J, T-Blacks and Umpa.

7 June – Schools’ Calypso
8 June – Schools’ Panorama
29 June – National Carnival Queen Pageant
5 July – National Groovy & Power Soca Monarch
6 July – National Calypso Monarch
7 July – National Panorama Finals
7 July – Junior Carnival
8 July – King and Queen of the Bands
8-12 July – Carnival in the City
15 July – J’ouvert
15 and 16 July – Parade of the Bands
