It’s time to get your brushes, paints, and palettes because we’re going to paint the village!

As part of the Nobel Laureate Festival’s calendar of events, Paint the Village 2022 will bring January to a close. The annual painting event is free and will be held on 30 January, 9.30 am at the jetty in Laborie.

COVID-19 protocols will be in effect to ensure a safe and entertaining experience. Visitors are to be fully vaccinated, have their boosters and walk with their masks.

Paint the Village 2022 promises to be a fun activity for the whole family and friends as all ages are welcomed. Also, whether beginner, intermediate or advanced, come along with your crayons, paints, pencils, inks, sticks, brushes, cameras, tablets etc.

Guests can anticipate combining artistic and technical representations with painters and possibly architects and drafting students in attendance. Altogether, it will be a time of camaraderie and creativity.

Visitors will have the pleasure of creating interpretations of the Gommier Canoe with the guidance of an instructor or on their own. The traditional dugout canoe made from the Gommier tree and passed down from the Amerindians is still used by our fisherfolk today.

On Sunday, 30 January, come and bask in the splendour of Laborie while engaging in plein air painting. You’ll leave with memories of a time well spent and a beautiful souvenir.
