Hundreds of people are set to take part in the annual Antigua and Barbuda International Kite Festival held at Devil’s Bridge in Indian Town National Park on Monday 22 April.

This colourful event brings together kite enthusiasts of various ages and from different parts of the world who fill the skies with homemade kites for this Easter Monday tradition.

This year, the kite festival starts at 9am and is expected to include:

– Traditional competitions with prizes for the biggest kite; smallest kite; biggest corporate kite, most kites in the air and people’s choice.

– Kites from Bulgaria, Canada, Haiti and the USA.

– A kite building workshop for novice kite makers.

There will also be stalls selling local food and drink as well as music and other fun activities for all the family.

The entry fee is $5 (EC) but the event is free for children 10 years old and younger.

This festival is well attended every year and is a joyous way to end the Easter season.
